Released on Friday 18 December 2009

In December 2009 the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and the ENEN Association signed a Grant Agreement for the new exchange project "European Japanese Exchange Project in Nuclear Disciplines (EUJEP)" for the period of three years.
The EUJEP covers the mobility programme of students at the Master level of Nuclear Engineering and other Nuclear Disciplines related to the application of nuclear technologies and radiation sciences. The project also includes the mobility of faculuty members between Japan and the European Union. The project produces the mutual recognition of higher education curricula in nuclear disciplines and a common level of qualifications for the Masters od Sciences in nuclear engineering. In the long term the impact of this young generation is expected to benefit to the design, construction and operation of nuclear power plants and to the implementation of nuclear and radiaction technologies with respect to their sustainability, their reliability and their safety aspects.
From the European side the ENEN Association, representing its Members, CEA/INSTN, ENM, UPB and STU are participating, while Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kyoto University and Japan Atomic Energy Agency are the partners on the Japenese side. All institutions are already mutually involved in bilateral or multilateral exchange programmes in the framework of several agreements.
