ENEN-EUR Course 2010 in Rez (near Prague), Czech Republic, 13-16 September 2010

Nuclear energy is one of the means the European utilities must consider to meet future electricity needs. The major European electricity generation companies which form the EUR (European Utility Requirements) organisation, together with the European Nuclear Education Network Association, propose a three-and-half-day course aimed at post-graduate students in nuclear engineering and young professionals.
After the ENEN-EUR Course in 2005 in the framework of FP6 NEPTUNO project, the 2nd ENEN-EUR Course will be organised in Rez (near Prague), Czech Republic, 13-16 September 2010. This course is co-organised by the EUR Organisation and the ENEN Association, in close cooperation with the Technology Platform "Sustainable Energy for the Czech Republic", Nuclear Research Institute Rez plc (REZ), and Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU).
The objective of the ENEN-EUR course is to provide:
- Detailed view of the key requirements developed in EUR
- Information about the comparison works with the other design specifications
- Hints about the background situation in Europe
This course is open to anybody who has a minimum scientific background. It is intended to provide first hand information to young professionals and post-graduate students who are considering a career in NPP R&D, engineering or operation or to young engineers that have already started a career. This will also be a good opportunity to develop contacts between the participants. The lecturers are experienced engineers or managers from major European utilities involved in nuclear generation or support activities.
