The scope of the projects is:

  • Master level and postgraduate education
  • Training mainly for young professionals

Each side has its own project partners and financial scheme, and both are coordinated by the EU and non-EU Coordinators to achieve the objective of the project.

Two projects are ongoing:

   > ENEN-RU for cooperation with Russian Federation

   > ECNET for cooperaiton with China

One project is to be launched in 2012:

   > EURECA! for cooperation with Canada

ENEN-RU with russian federation

  • On the EU side, 12 partners (including 4 third parties) coordinated by ENEN Association, supported by the Europeam Commisison/Euratom
  • On the Russian side, 5 partners coordinated by NRNU Moscow Engineering Physics Institutes (NRNU-MEPhI), supported by ROSATOM

The objectives of the entire ENEN-RU project are:

  • to define a common basis to allow effective cooperation between the European and Russian networks for nuclear E&T;
  • to define the needs of cooperation in the long term;
  • to establish a framework for mobility of teachers and students;
  • to conduct some pilot items for Education and Training (E&T);
  • to launch the knowledge management framework; and
  • to list up and promote further use of E&T facilities, laboratories and equipments.

The work will start by analysis of the present situation on both sides, define opportunities and barriers for cooperation, carry out pilot exercises and define a road map for the expansion of the cooperation. The project will lead to the mutual recognition of the E &T programmes on both sides and lead to the expansion of the exchanges. These would offer to nuclear research and industry a broader basis of human resources and foster cooperation in nuclear power development.
