1st General Assembly will take place in Brussels, Belgium, 26 November 2008  new

The 1st General Assembly of SNE-TP took place in Brussels, Belgium, 26 November 2008, to facilitate the widest involvement of interested stakeholders, providing feedback, interaction, networking, and building commitment towards attaining the goals of the SNE-TP.

A poster session is also organized during the GA. 28 posters illustrate current R&D projects of programmes in the field of nuclear fission energy performed either on a national basis, or on a European basis through, for example, the Euratom Framework Programme (FP). A poster on three ENEN FP7 projects on European Fission Training Schemes (EFTS) , i.e ENEN-III, PETRUS II and ENETRAP II, was presented for the poster session. These projects are to be launched at the beginning of 2009 and the details will be introduced soon. For further information on the FP7 projects, please contact Peter De Regge.

All presentations, speeches and presented posters are available at the SNE-TP official website.

Launch Conference of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) in Brussels, Belgium, 21 September 2007

The Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP) was officially launched on 21 September 2007 in Brussels. This Technology Platform aims at coordinating Research, Development, Demonstration and Deployment (RDD&D) in the field of nuclear fission energy. It gathers stakeholders from industry (technology suppliers, utilities and other users), research organisations including Technical Safety Organisations (TSO), universities and national representatives.

SNETP Vision Report
The Vision Report of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform was distributed at the Launch Conference. It reflects a consensus among a large group of stake-holders on the priorities of RDD&D in the field of nuclear fission, addressing the renaissance of nuclear energy with the deployment of Generation III reactors, and the development of Generation IV systems, both fast neutron reactor systems with fuel multi-recycling for sustainable electricity-generating capability and (Very)High Temperature Reactors for other applications of nuclear, such as production of hydrogen or biofuels. Important issues such as the safety of nuclear installations and the responsible management of waste are also addressed, as well as other issues which are crucial to the success of nuclear energy in the 21st century: education and training, research infrastructures, material research and numerical simulation – and funding.

WG on Education & Training and Knowledge Management is co-chaired by the ENEN and the EDF
