The Institute of Safety Research of Forschungszentrum Dresden Rossendorf (FZD) announces a vacancy for a postdoctoral scientist who disposes of experience in the application of Monte Carlo techniques for the simulation of coupled photon / neutron radiation fields. Experience in the use of MCNP is appreciated.
The candidate is expected to perform calculations for a pulsed photo-neutron source at the radiation source ELBE of FZD that is aimed at the measurement of energy resolved neutron cross sections for construction materials of generation 4 reactors and long lived radio-nuclides to be transmuted in generation 4 reactors or accelerator driven systems.
The position is open for maximum 3 years if the candidate proves the required skills. With excellent performance proved in a tenure track, a permanent position as leading scientist in radiation field calculations could be offered.
FZD is interested to fill the position as early as possible.
Further details about the position are available at the below mentioned address.
